Through the implementation of the evidenced- based model, MST, the MST Therapist assists families with children ages 12 to 17 in improving parenting, discipline and relationships across the entire ecology. Interventions promote strengths and minimize risks, enabling more successful community living and emphasizing long-term change. Success in the role is measured on: Ability to engage with children and families. Ability to provide services with model adherence. Ability to successfully provide interventions to children and have families and producing outcomes that show improvements across life domains. Ability to meet expected case documentation requirements within the electronic medical record. Ability to maintain compliance with agency and contractual policies, and training and licensure requirements. Essential Functions: · Assist families in overcoming barriers through engaging with children, families, and other key stakeholders assisting them in active change-oriented treatment. Conduct MST assessments including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within an ecological context. Using the MST Analytic process, developing a treatment plan through formulating a problem conceptualization, intervention strategies, review outcomes and revise strategies as needed. · Interact with clients in non-traditional settings and during non-traditional hours. · Using the MST model, maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts and use this information to promote peer and supervisory review. · Collaborate with all relevant systems and stakeholders within each system to ensure their buy-in and cooperation. · Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices. · Complete weekly case paperwork and attend weekly supervision and consultation activities. · Participate in all MST training, including MST Five Day Training at the point of hire and on-going quarterly MST Team Booster Trainings. Knowledge or Experience: An understanding of theories regarding Family Systems, Social Ecology, Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Pragmatic Family Therapy, Child Development and other resultant applications. Experience with the implementations of interventions within or between systems the natural ecology of youth (e.g., family, peer, school and neighborhood). Must complete a minimum of 24 hours of training annually focusing specifically on the treatment of children and families with 50 hours completed first year of employment. Must attend MST 5 day training upon hire. Minimum Qualifications / Experience: A Master’s degree in a behavioral science. Experience in providing services with children and families. Education / Certifications: State licensure commensurate with degree. Travel Requirements Extensive travel to clients’ homes is required. Must have reliable transportation. Must maintain adequate insurance coverage. Must have/maintain a valid driver’s license and fewer than 6 points on record. Decision Making A high level of decision making is required in this position. 9 on a 10 points scale.
