Permanent contract. Providing clinical supervision to a team of therapists who provide in home therapy to complex families using a prescribed model based on empirical data and robust evidence.

The Job

MST is widely considered the gold standard for treatment of adolescent antisocial behaviour and is utilised in the US, Europe, the UK, and NZ. MST-CAN is an adaptation of MST US model and is targeted to families who have recent risk of harm reports pertaining to ongoing child abuse and neglect.

We are currently offering a rare opportunity to supervise this leading-edge program where you will maintain and develop therapists who exhibit systemic assessment skills, maintain comprehensive safety planning, deliver CBT for anger management, deliver behaviour management planning, maintain evidence-based trauma treatment for children (TFCBT) and adults (PET), provide substance abuse treatment (reinforcement based treatment), functional analysis, strategic family therapy, parent training, and more.

  • Assure outcomes are delivered for families
  • Manage complex cases and maintain high level clinical care throughout the team
  • Deliver supervision and collaborate with MST experts on service delivery and model fidelity
  • Ensure all assessments are comprehensive and multisystemic
  • Develop new knowledge of the MST-CAN Model to deliver high quality practice crucial to the success of this program
  • Availability to provide periodic on-call 24-hour coverage

Required Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Master’s Degree in clinical or counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related subject area with significant experience in therapeutic settings
  • Be capable of developing inter-agency and intra-agency partnerships
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of clinicians
  • Expertise in family/care giver systems theory and interventions and behavioural and cognitive behavioural therapies and their application to the treatment of anti-social youth.
  • Significant demonstrated experience in clinically supervising others in the application of a variety of evidence-based assessment and intervention skills at a senior level and responsive to constructive feedback and supervision.
  • Current driving license
