Job Description

Seeking a Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) Consultant to work closely with MST Supervisors, Clinicians, Agency Providers and the Life Without Barriers MST Program Developer to ensure program adherence to the Multi Systemic Therapy model in order to maximise treatment outcomes for clients and client’s families. The MST Consultant performs their responsibilities in a culture of ongoing development, improvement and evaluation.

This position is located in Australia. The exact location is open to discussion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain expert knowledge of MST and its components
  • Collaborate with MST supervisors and teams to maintain fidelity to the MST model
  • Implement ongoing quality assurance and improvement activities
  • Complete Program Implementation reviews bi-annually
  • Provide training and support to MST Supervisors and therapists on a regular and ongoing basis
  • Prepare written feedback on all cases prior to team consultations including identifying top clinical concerns, ensuring complete fit assessments and prioritisation, developing intervention recommendations and anticipating barriers
  • Regularly monitor the impact of training of supervisors and the teams ability to implement MST and MST supervision effectively
  • Provide an environment free of abuse, harm and exploitation for people we support

Skills & Experience

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, Social Work or related fields or Master’s Degree with equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor qualifications with MST Supervisor experience and demonstrable clinical and other essential skills/knowledge as outlined, may be considered
  • Demonstrated experience as an MST Supervisor
  • Significant clinical experience in family therapy, behavioural therapy and child development
  • Significant clinical experience in conducting behavioural, systemic and ecological interventions with multi-problem youth and families in community-based settings
  • Demonstrated experience working with self-disciplined independence in an environment of ongoing accountability
  • Approaches work with integrity and is open to continuous learning

  • Salary range is AUD118,575 to AUD140,000 and includes a compulsory superannuation contribution of 9.5%

This position requires quarterly travel to teams located around Australia and other travel as required
