University Behavioral Associates (UBA) at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York is seeking an individual with a masters-level in the mental health field to serve as a therapist for the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) program funded by the NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS). UBA currently provides MST for Substance Abuse (MST-SA) but as of July 1, will begin delivering MST-Prevention (MST-PREV) services, which are uniquely targeted to serve the needs of families receiving MST within child welfare prevention services.
Therapists will engage in work within the home or community. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment, and collaboration with families, youth, and community agency staff. This fast-paced job requires some evening and/or weekend availability, and periodic on-call 24-hour coverage. This position allows the potential of accruing clinical hours towards licensure.
The therapist will work closely with other members of a close-knit, dynamic MST team, and will receive 3 hours of group supervision/consultation and 1 hour of individual supervision weekly. Therapists will also receive free, intensive training in MST.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated clinical experience with adolescents and/or families, substance use issues, and with providing behaviorally-based treatments, and will possess excellent organizational skills. Spanish-speaking strongly preferred.
