Job Description

NFI Massachusetts, Inc., a non-profit human services agency, is seeking a master’s level clinician/counselor for our Multi-systemic Therapy (MST) Program.  MST is a community-based program that has proven to be effective in producing positive results with the toughest kids for more than 30 years.  MST is a well-researched community-based treatment model directed towards youth with problematic behaviors.  Examples of impact include:

  • Keep kids in their home and reduce out-of-home placements up to 50 percent
  • Keep kids in school
  • Keep kids out of trouble, reducing re-arrest rates up to 70 percent
  • Improve family relations and functioning
  • Decrease adolescent psychiatric symptoms
  • Decrease adolescent drug and alcohol use

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry small caseloads of 5 - 6 cases, in order to meet intensively with families to adequately address their needs
  • Provide daily assessment, treatment, and collaboration with youth and families
  • Daily collaboration with referral sources and community partners
  • Utilizing clinical and non-clinical engagement strategies
  • Participation in weekly team supervision and consultation.
  • Adherence to MST standardized model of treatment.
  • Completion of documentation including but not limited to assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes

Job Requirements:

  • Must be available to provide 24-hour on-call phone intervention for youth and families, as needed.
  • Work non-traditional hours - flexible schedule to meet families when it is most convenient for them.
  • Work in a non-traditional work setting, able to do written work from the office, in the community, or at home. Laptop, iPhone and hotspot are provided.
  • Specific experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy or behaviorally-based treatments preferred.
  • Minimum of Master’s degree in human services, social work, counseling, education, criminal justice, or related field with experience. 
  • Must be available to attend the 5 day MST orientation training in South Carolina at beginning of employment. (Related expenses are paid for by NFI)
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
