Do you want to make a difference in the community by providing highly effective and evidenced based treatment to youth ages 12-17 that is directed at responding to and preventing antisocial or delinquent behavior? The Family Partnership is seeking a MST Therapist to join their driven and dynamic team of Twin Cities based MST Therapists. The MST therapist will develop targeted interventions focused on empowering parents to address risk factors within the family, school, peer and community systems. Due to COVID restrictions, sessions are currently being held primarily via telehealth services.
JOB SUMMARY: The MST therapist will draw heavily on structural, strategic and cognitive behavioral approaches, but also work creatively to address practical barriers to parent/caregiver effectiveness by connecting with community resources, working with schools or using dedicated funds to meet therapeutic goals. The MST therapist will work intensively (minimum 3 sessions per week) with a small caseload (3-6) of families and a team of four therapists that cover the 24/7 on call schedule on a rotating weekly basis (each therapist typically has 1 week of on-call per month).
MST is an intensive in-home therapy with a “whatever it takes” approach to partnering with parents and caregivers to keep youth at home, attending school and out of trouble with law enforcement. The MST program has been a partnership with Hennepin County Departments of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation since 2010, as well as the Human Services and Public Health Department.
